eMail Manager is an addin designed for Microsoft® Outlook® 2007 or 2010  to assist the user in filing / archiving and retrieving emails in a consistent and efficient way. Messages are either saved in Outlook folders, Exchange public folders or as MSG files in the file system. NOW WITH IMPROVED SUPPORT FOR OUTLOOK 2010.

eMail Manager integrates with your inbox in the form of a File Message button in either a toolbar of the main Outlook 2007 explorer or a custom ribbon tab in Outlook 2010. As the email is read you have the option to quickly file the message into an Outlook folder or the file system in the form of an .MSG file. The file message dialog presents you with a list of recent save locations and a range of options for dealing with attachments.
 

As mail is sent eMail Manager pops up a dialog prompting you to save or delete the sent message. Just as with received mail you can save your message to an Outlook folder or into the file system.

Messages saved into the file system are consistently named with a configurable filename format.

As well as saving msg files into the file system eMail Manager can assist with searching through folders and sub-folders on NTFS drives to find saved messages. An alternative way to find and search .msg files is to use the Windows Desktop Search tool with the .msg file filter. Network locations can be indexed by Windows Search using the UNC addin.

Selecting multiple messages in an Outlook folder before clicking on the File Message button puts eMail Manager into batch mode. In batch mode all selected messages to a single folder that you are prompted select in the usual way.
